You can create a free account on Etsy. Visit Etsy.com and click “Get Started.”
Enter basic personal information, including your name and email address, to create an account.
After creating an account, you will be able to open your store on Etsy. Start by entering data about your store and settings, including the language in which you will describe your products, the country from which you sell, and the currency in which you will charge customers.
Click “Save and Continue” and then enter the name of your store. It can be a combination of letters and numbers without spaces.
Don't know what to call your store? Get inspired with a name generator for business. Choose a name that fits your products and is not yet used by another store owner on Etsy.
When choosing a name for your store on Etsy, consider including relevant keywords that describe your products and are likely to be used in customer searches.
Once you open your store on Etsy, you will be able to start selling items. Create a new ad for every item you sell through the marketplace — whether it's vintage goods, handmade products, or arts and crafts products.
When filling out your ads, additional options will appear to enter more detailed information about the product. These include:
- How and when the product was made
- Product Category
- Type of ad
- Whether it is a physical or digital product
The most important factor in every Etsy ad is its image. When shopping online, people buy with their eyes. They can't touch, smell, or see the product in person, so their decision to buy your item on Etsy depends on a great photo of the item.
You can add up to 10 high-quality images and one video per ad. Each product must be attractive enough to stand out among those offered by other sellers in the market.
Use clear, high-resolution images that showcase your product from different angles. Etsy recommends using photos with the shortest side of the image of 2000 pixels and a resolution of 72 pixels per inch (PPI).
Another important part of your commodity items is the description. An effective product description is written in the language of your customers, includes all the most popular product details and the main keywords that customers use to search for your products.
Think about what customers might be looking for when looking for your products, and use those terms in your tags and attributes.
Set a price for your product in the Inventory and Pricing section. Enter the amount the buyer will pay for the item, the number of items you have in stock, and the inventory storage unit (SKU) if you use it. You can also add options such as different sizes or colors.
Finally, include shipping and return information that customers should know when purchasing items from your Etsy store. Indicate where you ship the item from and the average order processing time — how long it takes you to pick up, pack and ship the item after the customer has placed the order.
Choose whether you want to offer fixed shipping prices or additional delivery services. If you ship goods to international customers, add a tariff number for customs.
You can set up multiple delivery profiles that can be applied to future ads with different prices and delivery speeds.
Try downloading more than one product list when you open your store on Etsy. Be sure to review all listings before posting so customers don't see mistakes when they visit your store.
You will be able to edit your lists or add new items at any time through the store control panel.
Are you satisfied with your range? On the next page, you will be asked to choose a payment method.
Choose whether you are an individual seller or a registered company. Then enter your personal data, including name and address. Finally, enter the details of the bank account in which you want to receive income from Etsy.
